How To Upload Audio and Video to Weebly site

You can upload Audio and Video to Weebly in two different ways. We will get into the advantages and disadvantages of both the methods later in this article. But first, the two methods:
- Weebly Pro users can upload audio and video directly.
Drag and Drop the Audio Player or Video Player and you will be provided with options to upload your file
Once you drag the Audio Player or Video Player on to the page, you will have the option to upload your audio / video file to your Weebly Page. Your visitors can just click and play directly.
- Weebly Free users can not use the audio or video player. But you can use third party embeds to accomplish this. For Video, you can upload your video to YouTube and use the YouTube element in Weebly to share it with your visitors. For Audio, use the SoundCloud which lets you upload several types of files and provides an embed code for you to add in a custom-html element in Weebly.
Each of the methods has their own advantages and disadvantages. Uploading audio or video to your site directly will play the files commercial free and without any limitations on number of files you can upload. It is a good choice for introductory videos or training videos where you need to deliver a message without interruptions and distractions. You can also password protect videos to be used for internal sales and marketing training etc which you do not want to post on YouTube. Same is the case with Audio. Uploading files to your site lets you take more control.
YouTube Videos play with inline commercials distracting your viewer’s attention. More often, YouTube pops up a competitor’s advertisement which may defeat the purpose of your video. SoundCloud limits the duration of audio tracks for free users. If you have a large number of files, you will have to upgrade to a paid version of SoundCloud.
The public repositories like YouTube have the advantages too. If it is an infomercial video, YouTube can bring in a large amount of viewers as opposed to the video on your site. You can also embed the same YouTube video at multiple sites. Viewers can easily share and recommend the videos to their friends. So, a YouTube video brings more publicity. Use the YouTube to generate leads. Use Direct Video on your site to convert those leads in to customers.
YouTube and SoundCloud are also compatible across multiple platforms. Direct audio does not play on mobile devices, but audio from SoundCloud plays well.
I embedded a Flash MP3 player in our online radio site on Weebly Pro. The issue I am having is the player is over layering Weebly tools and sometimes blocking the tool bars all together. I have searched high and low for a solution that will allow me to change the layers but am not sure if it is a possibilty using Weebly's services. I tried using the wmode parameter but that doesn't seem to work. I'm still a novice at web developing so it is a trial and error process. Any help would be appreciated. Is there a way to allow the song to keep looping when you use the audio player available with a Pro account? Thanks so much!
Looping was not a choice with built-in audio player element. You may have to use soundcloud.
I am using the weebly audio player. Is there a way to keep the audio running while viewing other pages? right now the audio stops when I navigate away from the “Audio” page I have created.
I didn’t try it my self. I guess it would work if you drag the swf-element.

If you check the article http://weeblyforums.com/2012/02/weebly-flexible-footer-create-drag-drop-content-footer/ you should be able to drag the swf element to it so that it gets applied to all the pages.
But first, do a quick check by dropping a regular mp3 into the audio player element into the flexible footer area. Let us know how it goes.
If you convert the audio sound to swf by some swf converter then the sound will play continuously till someone stops it! Check it out @ vaastukashi.weebly.com,your help and comments are appriceated!

Hallo i’m interested to this pro user feature…i need to know first if the song streamed are high quality (320k) and not the usual 128k of soundcloud for example
does the pro audio player have shuffle? how many tracks will it display? i have many instrumentals and need a audio player that shuffles
I am a pro user. Working on a site with audio tracks. Just want to use one player for multiple tracks. Not possible with the one provided by Weebly.

I am thinking of purchsing weebly pro but need to know one thing. Can people download my videos or will the clips just be streamed on the site? I’m using sentry login to make my site only available to paid members so obviously i don’t want those members to be able to download all the content and then cancel their subscription.

People will be able to download videos. Even though you do not provide a download explicitly, there are ways for people to download videos. Not just with Weebly. It’s some thing with every video source. It’s similar to pictures. You can’t 100% protect them from downloading.
